I ordered the Anniversary Collection of all the back issues of the HTJ because I thought it would be interesting reading - but it's been so much more. As I was reading, it felt a little like sitting around the living room listening to the "oldsters" exchanging stories about growing up. I "watched" history unfold and gained an appreciation for the roots of the field. I'm so appreciative of those who paved the way, for where we've been and how far we've come. For folks like me who are newer to the field, I highly recommend the collection.

Your article on Pow Wow, sympathetic medicine and energetic healing - the alchemy of intention (Winter 2012-2013) resonated with me. It brought to light a variety of practices used to bring healing, which may work in harmony with those who use music, and especially that of the harp, as a means to restore balance, create a space for reflection, offer joy, healing and ultimately bring Heaven to Earth. Thank you for the other articles as well. They were all inspiring. I look forward to the next HTJ.

I loved the Spring 2012 HTJ issue — so diverse and rich. The articles from Betsy Chapman and Lynda Kuchenbrod were both rich with information. Dr. Steven Lehar's article was wonderful - he talks about very complex ideas in a cohesive and understandable way. What an incredible [Spring 2012] HTJ issue! I read it from cover to cover in one sitting!
The article on "Grief" was of particular interest... . It confirmed in my mind the need to go through a therapeutic music program before doing VAHT. In the IHTP we learned how to differentiate emotions that belong to the client versus to ourselves. It is OK to feel empathy but not to feel sympathy... like the author of the article says you cannot be a good healer if you take on the clients emotional or physical issues. In my class of 2000, some people decided they needed to go in therapy to deal with unresolved issues that had transpired through some of the role playing we had been doing. This aspect of caring isn't taught in nursing school or medical school and probably not in social work or other similar programs... .

I've subscribed to your journal for the past year and eagerly look forward to its arrival in the mail. Mona Peck's interview with Therese Schroeder-Sheker was enlightening on different levels. This sacred work of live harp and voice vigils by certified music thanatologists is powerful and so needed. I am a registered nurse by profession and have witnessed how music- thanatology vigils change the energy in the room of the dying especially in the acute care system.... Many thanks to the HTJ for keeping us informed and inspired.

The Fall issue of the HTJ has to be the beset one yet! The cymatics research article was wonderful, exactly the kind of thinkg we shoudl be reading about more. Laurie Riley

The last few issues of the HTJ have been both fascinating and intriguing. You continually outdo the previous issue! The article by Susan McAlister about using tuning forks for healing - backed up by scientific evidence - was extremely interesting. And the interview with John Stuart Reid (Fall '08) sent me scurrying to the website to learn more.
It is both exhilirating and humbling to realize how the music of the harp reaches back to the distant past, as well as forward to the cutting edge of the future.

This aspect of caring isn't taught in nursing school or medical school and probably not in social work or other similar programs... .

The Winter 2010 HTJ was the best yet - just full of wonderful articles. I find it very exciting to read in more and more healthcare-related journals about how hard science is confirming the wisdom of the ancients, particularly about the heart....

I was alos excited to read about the meeting of NSBTM members and the AMTA. What the organizers did to get this meeting accomplished deserves applause.
